Summer Shows 2005
The NH Racing Nitro Funny Car
appeared at a couple of shows recently, hopefully the last static shows before
the beast finds its true place at the drag strip.....
Firstly, THE CORVETTE CLUB NATIONALS,
Knebworth House June 26th 2005
|
For anyone with a love of Corvettes this was the place to be!
With stunning examples of every generation filling the show field.
We arrived mid afternoon on Saturday to setup ready for the show and shine on
Sunday.
The timing of the event worked out well for us as it gave an opportunity to get
the new 'goose-neck' trailer on the road for the first time and check that all
was OK!
The amount of hours Nobby has put into building the trailer completely from
scratch is incredible, at 38ft long it was a huge project.
The finished item is quiet a piece and was admired by many over the weekend.
With Nobby, myself and Simon Hayward on duty
we had everything in place fairly swiftly, including our new Nascar style pit
wagon fabricated by Nobby and home to our wrenches and air tools (Courtesy of NH
Racing sponsors and quality tool suppliers) -Teng Tools and Chicago Pneumatic.
Sunday dawned bright and warm, and over the
course of the day the funny car was the subject of much attention. We had a
great time as always, meeting the visitors, making contacts and drooling over
those gorgeous Vette's! Big thank you's go to Steve
from the club for inviting us along, and the team from Mothers Car Care Products
who were trading at the event. After getting the Funny Car absolutely sparkling
they supplied NH Racing with a full set of their fine polish and vehicle
dressing products -Thanks guys!
A great event and one for your 2006 diaries!

Secondly, AMERICANA INTERNATIONAL
FESTIVAL
Newark, Notts,
July 7th - 10th 2005

 |
On duty this weekend were Nobby, Junior and myself.
Nobby and Junior arrived on the Friday night after a hard day at work on the
trailer with some of the graphics being put on, the remainder being scheduled
for the following week along with the last few things to, at last, say the trailer
is finished....look out for a feature soon on how many of us spent our spring !
I turned up on Sunday to a large crowd (not for me!!),
incredibly hot weather and a great show of everything American; cars and
culture.
The car was on show alongside the truck and trailer and
looked for all the world like it was ready to race. In fact we had initially
hoped to be able to fire it up at the show but with some parts still required,
this unfortunately did not happen. As always, a
great deal of interest was shown from the numerous visitors at the show with
many stopping to take pictures. Come the end of the
show, and putting the car in the trailer, a young lad asked me why Junior didn't
drive it in and why the winch was pulling it in....obviously this lad needs to
see the car in action as I am sure even Junior would not want to drive it into
the trailer under power.
Then again ............ Chris |
