Nobby Hills has been a pioneer of UK and European Drag Racing since 1963 when he constructed his first dragster. Nobby has been instrumental in the development and innovations that make the exciting spectacle of European Drag Racing what it is today.
Nobby Hills
is a true legend and well respected figure in the sport. Since the beginning his
cars have captured the imagination of both racers and spectators alike. The
debut of a new Nobby
Hills Racing Funny Car is an eagerly awaited event both
within the media, and amongst
the very many race fans across Europe. Following
retirement from racing as a team owner in 1990, the Nobby Hills Racing team is
to return with a brand
new car with the intention of competing in the British Nitro Funny Car
championship, as well as fulfilling a full calendar of commitments at shows and
races across Europe.
The driving force behind the return to racing is to campaign a British built
Nitro powered Funny Car against the
might of imported American Funny Cars.
The new car constructed by Nobby Hills Racing features a composite carbon fibre Chevrolet Camaro body mounted onto a Nobby Hills designed and built chassis. Motivation for the car comes In the form of a 500 cu in. (8000cc) TFX engine, producing approx. 6000bhp.
Nitro Funny Cars are capable of completing the standing quarter mile in less
than five seconds at speeds approaching
300mph - it's very exiting, very loud, and the earth really does move beneath
you.
Nobby Hills Racing
have always fielded race cars constructed and presented to the highest standard,
and to this end, the team
are actively seeking sponsorship. Nobby Hills Racing is in a
position to offer potential partners the opportunity to market your products and services and build your
brand in the unique and spectacular world of Drag Racing -"the fastest motor sport on
earth!"
Nobby Hills Racing would welcome investment from primary and associate partners
across all levels, ranging from finance to cover the entire racing operation, to
investment, which covers the likes of consumables and travel expenses.
The new car will of course present the commitment of our Marketing partners in a professional and appropriate manner, and our dedicated team will endeavour to promote the brands of our partners through our experience, professionalism and strong network of media contacts. Nobby Hills' reputation is built on his ability to "put on a show" and sponsors of the new Fumy Car can look forward to maximum exposure. His approach has always differed from other racers -"I'll make them sit up and take notice" - He always has, and there's much more to come!

All previously
new Funny Cars built by Nobby Hills have been the subject of full features in
Custom Car
magazine, as the standard of construction and finish is so high. Talks have
taken place with Kevin
Elliot the editor of Custom Car who is extremely enthusiastic about a feature on
the new car
and
possibly a front cover.
Circulation is approx. 350,000 per month.
Street Machine and Classic American are amongst other titles, which will be approached regarding a feature on the new car.

A
professionally designed and hosted web site will continue to support the team's
operation. The aim will be to provide up-to-the-minute information of the team's
activities, including race day
results and reports. Marketing partners would have their corporate identity
visible throughout the site with links to all of our partners. We plan to sell
a full range of team merchandise as final plans come
together, and all partners would have their identity positioned
with
prominence throughout the range.
The web site will reflect the level of sponsor's investment, a primary sponsor
could expect the design of the site to reflect their company branding
throughout. Associate sponsors can expect a
smaller scale presence and a link to their home
website.

Sky Sports, part of the BSkyB Corporation, covers the European Drag racing series in full with coverage from both the UK and Europe.

The major Drag Racing events
take place between April and September of each year with the European season
culminating with the finals of all classes.
Weather permitting crowds in excess of 30,000 witness the awesome spectacle of
the best in European Drag racing every May/June and September at the big
International meetings held at Santa Pod Raceway.
Smaller meetings take place
regularly, and these provide good
opportunities for additional testing.
The status of Nitro Cars
as kings of the sport is strengthening, as the cars get quicker and faster.
The Top Fuel dragsters, the 30-foot long missiles most commonly associated with
Drag Racing, have already broken the 300
mph banner - in the UK. By an English team!
Media and spectator excitement is now running high at the prospect of a Funny Car
hitting a 4 second run at 300mph.
Nobby Hills Racing will of course be working hard to reach that goal, with figures such as:

0 to 300mph in 4.9 seconds
