Americana International Festival
July 9th - 11th 2004, Newark, Notts

Weather may not have been kind all weekend, but we got some shade
from the truck on our left !

The latest appearance for the NHR Camaro was at the Americana Show,
held at Newark, Notts from the 9th to 11th of July 2004.

The show covered all things American: music, culture and cars. There were both old and new trucks, street cars, RV's, pick-ups, bikes;........

and The NHR Camaro Fuel Funny Car.

As if you needed to be told

Dogs and Tricks....Elwood (the dog) does his stuff !

The Camaro once again received many complementary comments and a great
deal of interest was seen from both drag racing aficionados and those that have never seen a Fuel Funny Car before and don't know what Drag Racing is all about.

Team members present at the show were Nobby, Owen, Darren, Emma and myself, (your humble webmaster), with associated friends and families; so it was a nice social occasion for us too.

Once again, Emma managed to generate the most interest and get all the
photographers demonstrating their skills, really can't think why (!), and she even got to get some TV coverage.

Nobby was also interviewed but the TV crew showed somewhat less enthusiasm interviewing him.......

Emma braved the weather to again get the photographers working overtime

"I remember, right foot is go and this thing helps to steer doesn't it Nobby ?"

Owen decided that he wanted to have a rest on Sunday afternoon, so,
with all other chairs being put to good use, the only seat available was the cockpit of the Funny Car, he seemed very much at home too; you would have thought he had sat in one of these cars before!

Certainly judging by his smile he seemed to enjoy it.

All that was missing was the vroom vroom sound effects.....

Despite the less than summery weather a few t-shirts were sold too so if you haven't ordered yours yet, do so before the summer has passed us by. You never know these will probably become collectors items in time..........

A nice relaxing and fun time for the team, that once again showed the high visibility and profile of the car. Certainly we were all pleased with the continued enthusiasm that the car is generating and the desire of many spectators and supporters to see it in its rightful place and to turn show into go.
